I was originally looking to Snag an AK, but then started looking at the RPK version. Totally hooked. Big question is which one?
Started Looking hard at the RPK and checking reviews. A lot of good and bad on both sides on the various versions, CYMA or ECHO1. Two reviews say that the ECHO1 version is just a re-brand of the CYMA version with a few tweaks.
All the reviews I have listened to have said they like the gun build and only negatives I have heard is the High FPS (??) and the length of the barrel not coming to the end of the outer barrel. A longer Tight Bore barrel will help on both fronts with it coming to the end of the outer barrel and knocking down the FPS due to the length.
Looking for some opinions from someone who owns one and the brand they like or dis-like. Always helps to hear from someone who owns one before I snag one.

Re: RPK purchase
The problem plaguing combloc guns is there is only 2 levels. Economy and premium. I owned a cyma RPK for a month before I sold it in time. I also own a guarder RPK, LCT RPK and Escort RPK. All 3 user the same Chinese OEM which LCT uses. Each of them is a far better quality vs cyma. Biggest complaint of cyma was the rear sight leaf falling off very very easily.
Do understand though, the RPK has an awkward battery space. There are custom shaped Nimh battery packs to fit. But they add on 2 pounds. The largest lipo I found to fit is a 11.1 2000 mah. I have solid stock LCT AK's which can hold a 11.1 3000 mAh battery. With PKM prices changing in the not to distant future. You really are, better off saving for a newer brand PKM. Box mag holds plenty and larger battery can be bought for far cheaper off R/C car webstores.

Re: RPK purchase
Thanks. Saw the PKM and looks like a solid weapon.
RC Shops are the bomb when it comes to weird sized batteries. I run some xT60 and EC3 Bullet ends on a few of my weapons just for that reason. i was able to find some custom sizes that fit in a variety of my weapons.
