REVIEW: WE AWSS M4 Gas Blow Back Rifle

Post by primer »

When koreaneric23 posted that he was selling his GBBR M4, I was all over it. Unfortunately I didn't have any money to spend on it.
Insert Sands Casino... and boom I had the money to buy it! :D

REVIEW: WE AWSS M4 GBBR.
Image

I drove to Princeton NJ from my house in the middle of the night (12:30AM) to pick it up.
Because I wanted it for the weekend.

First Impression:
This thing is awesome. Really sturdy. No wobble.
I took the 7" rails of my PTW and stuck them on the front. So you can use any airsoft rails with it :)
It weighs about the same as my PTW really nice and hefty. The LE stock is the same as the G&G M4 so I swapped it out for the smaller G&P M4 LE stock (fits better I think)

The only thing on this that is plastic is the hand grip, and since its a GBBR there is no motor!
Unfortunately it is held in by a large bolt, and not those small 4 screws that most AEGs have so you can't just swap it out for a different hand grip.

The Feel
This thing feels real! haha, especially with some nice kick when you shoot it. Everything is metal it there is a nice ka-chunk when you pull back the charging handle. This comes with a clockwise (yes CW) 14mm thread on the front so G&P flash hiders work, all those other AEGs with CCWs you'll have to get a converter. The front barrel assembly is nice and strong, and the hand guards seem sturdy. The stock has no wobble either.

Remember to not keep your eye right up to your scope, since there is some kick you will hit your eye with your scope when you shoot.

The Look
Full Trades!

it looks beautiful. it's Anodized aluminum so it feels nice and smooth. If only the gun didn't require maintenance it would be perfect.

What comes with it?
You get 1 mag. Yep. Well I got 3 since it was used.

Field Test
I think the best thing about this is that you have to pull the charging handle to use the gun.
And when the mag is empty the bolt locks back and you have to push the bolt catch lever in.

So far I haven't figured out how adjust the hop-up very well, it still goes down pretty quickly. I assume this will come in time (hope so)
But the kick is what is the best thing, this thing just feels like you are shooting something awesome. And when you are on full auto, this thing is loud.

Right now it chronos in at
.2 550 +/- 15 fps
.3 480 +/- 15 fps
so its shooting way to hot to be used inside of like 50 ft. lol. I have to find a new nozzle to reduce the FPS because that is dangerous.

Mags are nice and heavy and are full sized too. So if you are used to the really light MAG brand midcaps, these are like 4 of those in 1.
L to R: MAG Midcap, Magpul P-Mag, WE GBBR, Systema PTW

Overall
If you have the extra money buy one of these. It's def not a wall hanger!
You will love the kickback that it has and the feel of the gun. It's a little expensive but totally worth it!
(The only problem is its gas so you have the smell of either green gas or propane :P)
